However, I have been working on a new Holiday Collection and it's in my shop now.
I'm offering free shipping within the U.S. over this coming holiday weekend.

End of summer pink. Still have a few roses blooming.
Today, work, then bike. Or bike, then work. Haven't decided yet.
Obsessed by a knitting pattern that makes no sense. I hope it will become clear soon.
Roast chicken tonight.

End of summer blues. Start of school. Best tomatoes.

Helloooo out there. It's been a long, long time since I've been to this space or even felt like posting here. For some reason, not sure why, I just needed to take a break from it all.

As the summer comes to a close, I feel like posting here again, so I will!

This summer I spent a lot of time with family...in fact the whole summer really, in places that were familiar and beautiful. I went swimming almost every day. I read a lot of books. I spent a lot of time with my children and my nieces and nephews. It was nice.

So now, it's almost September. School is about to begin and life is about to become more chaotic.
I read this article on being busy the other day. Note to self.

Everything is blooming at once!

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Love peonies!  These are from the grocery store, but the ones in my garden are going to bloom soon.  I can't quite remember all the different colors I have, so it will be a nice surprise.  I've been reading a lot lately.  Mostly memoir type books, coming of age stories...non-fiction.

Just Kids by Patti Smith
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls
Charlotte au Chocolate by Charlotte Silver
Nothing Daunted by Dorothy Wickenden
The Flame Trees of Thika by Elspeth Huxley

and one great novel written about Maine in the 1800's...I really loved this one.
The Country of the Pointed Firs by Sarah Orne Jewett

Thanks Cambridge Public Library...my current #1 inspiration!

Hello!  Didn't really mean to stay away so long...things just got busy.  But now it's spring and everything is blooming earlier than usual.  Lilacs are the best, aren't they?  Except for roses and peonies, but they aren't blooming yet.  Be back soon!

Same tree...evening light, morning light. It's what I see out my living room window.
Cold days and pretty blossoms.

From Italy 2010. I'd like to go on a trip soon...this time of year especially.
Have a good weekend!

Thursday, March 29, 2012

Gosh, it got cold again this week. I've been inside doing a lot of sewing.

We watched Wasteland this last week. I recommend it.

Nice light today and warm weather. It feels like May rather than March. Have a great weekend!

HELLO SPRING! Nice to see you!

Friday, March 16, 2012

This gray weather is reminding me that this time last year, we were in Mexico. Sigh. Good times. Blue skies. Warm water.

Nice to have those memories. Wishing you a good weekend and blue skies soon.

Bride and Groom clothespeg couple.

There's a new Poppytalk spring themed market up this week. My shop is there.

Here are a few things from other shops that I really like.

Lovely print from Tiel Seivl-Keevers

Everything from Olivia Revel & Co.

Notecards from Renee Anne

Necklace from Rand Papelle

Thanks so much to Poppytalk for hosting a great market and for including my pillows in their market announcement on the blog! So nice!

It all looks so peaceful, doesn't it? You'd never guess that my children are blasting offensive rap music upstairs. Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Another basket full added to my shop! Feels like spring today for sure.

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

For Easter or spring time. In my shop soon.

Snowy, now rainy.
Still knitting cables, these will probably go into next fall's collection, since it's already March.
One lone flower on my geranium plant.
This time of year inspires me to dig out all my flowery old china and stick it around to make it feel springy inside when it's still not springy outside.

This winter I have been taking more advantage of the Cambridge Public Library. I'm trying to read a book a week. Just started Blood, bones and butter by Gabrielle Hamilton. So far, so good.
