Pansies

Sunny, cool spring weather is just what pansies like. They are out in full force at the garden shop down the street from me. Maybe this weekend I will buy some for the planters on our front steps. The only problem for me is deciding on the colors!

Happy Birthday Will!

Today is a big birthday day in our family. Will is six years old today! Happy Birthday Will...you make my day every day with your sweet nature and sense of wonder at the world around you!

Also, Happy Birthday to my lovely sister-in-law, Tally. Tal, if you are reading this all the way out in Portland, have a great birthday!

There's going to be a party here tonight...off to prepare...happy day to all of you.

Windowsill Garden

Lucy has been growing wheatgrass on her windowsill. She has been very responsible about watering it and it's really starting to grow. She painted the flowerpots, watering can, and tray herself.
I'm looking forward to gardening outside in my tiny city garden. It's a small space, but it is stuffed full of shrubs, trees, and perennial plants and flowers. Right now it needs a little spring clean up, as does my house and my business. I'm devoting this week and next to getting organized. I'm off to make a list right now. Wish me luck!

Assorted Windows

My mom was visiting me yesterday and we went into the South End of Boston, which has lots of little shops, galleries and restaurants and beautiful old brick buildings. I took lots of shop window pictures, which I'm realizing is not an easy task. Pardon the reflections in the pictures. This is something I need to practice more of to get it right! Well, here it is Friday again. It's pouring rain and I think my son has an ear infection. So, he's staying home from school and there may be a lot of TV watching going on in our house today after our doctor's visit. That's okay once and a while, right? Have a good weekend, you all!

I love these images from British Country Living Magazine. Top photo is from Cath Kidston's home, bottom photo is a lovely family home, but I'm not sure who it belongs to. Today my mom is visiting and we're going into Boston while the kids are at school. It's a nice sunny day and I'm bringing my camera!

I like to travel

Although I've been on some great trips recently, I always want to travel more.
Yesterday I found this journal I had made of our trip to Turkey eleven years ago! It was fun to look back on my old writing and little paintings and remember our trip.
Since I've been blogging, I've had the opportunity to make many little trips each day to places I would never have the chance to visit otherwise.
This morning I discovered that the lovely *Marie* had given me a blog of purpose award. Thank you so much *Marie*! It truly made my day!
