Noticing simple but pretty things while I was cleaning today. Very mundane, yes, but still pretty. This week has started out on a very productive note. Thanks for all your nice comments from the last post!
I just love, those photos are so simply and pretty and at the same time everyday stuff! Well not everday stuff in my house i have so boring and typical toilet!
But now i must ask (i'm just curious)what that word mundane mean??? because my dictionary translated it fanny... like it would mean somekind of tobacco!:):)
funny, we cleaned the house today too! I agree with you that the mundane things in life need to be celebrated too... beauty is everywhere if you keep your eyes open! and yes, I love that the blinds all work again ;)
Hi Anu, I guess I would translate mundane as something that is ordinary and common (like cleaning the bathroom) :)....I'm glad you asked, it's not a word that gets used all that often in everyday English!
Hi Karina! I love simple beauty, but sometimes need to remind myself to see it...like today. It made cleaning the bathroom more satisfying:)
Hi Famapa...glad you saw my comment on the blinds! I think thanks to blogging and photography I now appreciate beauty in mundane much more than I used to.
I absolutely love your style. What a nice idea to have a silver pot for the toothbrushes !! In this world today everybody lives so fast and bussy. The things you find to buy are made out of plastik and they are not concipated for a long life. Look at all the millions of cellphones or other elek. things. Here in DK you can get a new one after 6 months. Why do I need 2 new ones in a year......? Most of the people have no eye and time for simple things. i love the simple style cause every old little thing is made for a long life and has it´s own little story. When I look at my old kindergarden bag it is made out of leather and 30 years old and now my daughter loves to play with it....... That is so special for me and cause of that I love to have old stuff. It makes me happy to look at it. Oh I´m fighting with my English *lol* Hope you understand me!! ...Take care ..*Marie*
So much beauty in the details of life :) It's wonderful that you can spot all the splendor and share it with us!! The color pops among all the white -- and I love all the vintage elements you have in your bathroom and cleaning stash!
Hi *Marie*! Nice to hear from you! I agree wholeheartedly with you about the fact that so many things in our world are specifically designed to be disposable and not made to last or be reused. It's frustrating and makes me want to use vintage and old things even more! Like you, I love using things in my daily life that have a history. Your English is fabulous by the way...not to worry :)
Hi Esti! I wish the tidy, clean bathroom would stay tidy and clean for more than a day. But it makes me so happy for that one day a week... a simple pleasure indeed.
Hi Porter Hovey, thanks for visiting! I just checked out your blog...great polaroids!
Hi Artycho, Mrs. French, Gracia and Grace...your nice comments always make me smile. Thanks for checking in...I'm off to check what you ladies are up to also!
I'm a designer and seamstress. I make bags and pillows out of vintage and natural fabrics. I'm a mom of two. I like pretty things.
All photos are mine unless otherwise noted. If you would like to use them, just let me know. Thank you!

Absolutely love this series of shots. So simple and pretty! Love that pewter cup, too!
I'd love to see the rest of your house!
Hi Mary, thanks for the comment! I'll post some other "simple" house pics soon.
Great photos. Love the way the colors stand out on the all white backgrounds. The Meyer's photo is my favorite. :-)
This is a lovely post.
