New cowls are in the shop! I made one for myself before Christmas and I have been wearing it every day since! So I thought it would be fun to make up a set for the shop as well.
Four colors: cream, charcoal, black and caramel. 100% superwash merino wool.
Softest. Wool. Ever.
Cowls are 15% off in the shop until the end of today with the STILLWINTER code at checkout. Then after that all scarves are going back to their original prices.
p.s. i can't afford to hire a model, so yes, that is me in the photos :)

The snowstorm ended early this morning and left us with huge piles of snow, no school, and brilliant blue skies for a change. We spent the morning outdoors and by afternoon there was still so much light streaming into our living room. This time of year I really need those sunny skies outdoors and flowers and white walls inside. And British magazines too...Selvedge and British Country Living. The best, they always cheer me up!

Cold week, lots more snow on the way tonight. One child home sick for the last three days. I have been knitting lots and trying out recipes from old issues of Gourmet magazine. Yesterday there was a pink winter sunset and pink tulips from the grocery store.

We got more snow today and I feel two ways about it. First, it's lovely and fresh right now and will make for good skiing over the weekend. Second, despite the prettiness of it all, I feel a bit of cabin fever. Thank goodness friends have invited us for dinner both tonight and tomorrow night. I am so grateful. I'm a bit tired of looking at my own four walls here.
The scarf sale continues in my shop! Just enter STILLWINTER at checkout for 15% off scarves. I've been working hard this week making some new ones too.
Have a great weekend one and all.

Yesterday: snowstorm, beignets, powdered sugar, then lots of shoveling.

Contrary to all the spring catalogs I got in the mail today, it's still winter! So, here are some new scarves you can wear for the rest of the season and into the spring. These are all knit in suri alpaca/merino, really soft and light, and warm too. Plus I love the names of the colors: toasted marshmallow, whipped cream, and pink lemonade. A lovely light blue color is soon to come : sno-cone. Yum! I'll get them listed in my shop soon. UPDATE: they are listed!

Knitting, knitting this week. I need to update my shop! I don't have much planned for this weekend, just making soup, maybe going for a ski, maybe a movie. Just one of those weekends with not much going on...which is really okay with me, but maybe your weekend will be more exciting!

Trying out a new brand of Irish Breakfast tea today. Just had a sip and it's not strong enough. Missing greenery outside and glad for indoor plants. My mom brought me back three skeins of this aqua blue yarn from Ireland. Not sure what to knit with it, have tried a few different things, nothing's working out just yet. I'm waiting for a surge of creativity to hit.

For me, January = more white, less clutter, change. Yesterday, the kids and I moved around the furniture after school, putting things where they have never been before, creating new spaces. Now it's time to de-clutter. I feel like having a giant yard sale or at least creating a vintage pop-up Etsy shop! I think the latter might be the easiest option.
Meanwhile, I'm working on some new things for spring, some soft and fluffy knits that can span the seasons in pale, springy colors, but still keep you warm on a cold day.

Happy New Year! Here's a little retrospective from each month of 2010. Thank you to everyone who stopped by this space over the past year. Cheers!
