9 to 5

Small bits from a late summer day. Fall is coming, but it doesn't feel like it yet, only the light has changed.

interlude

Returned home briefly to pick up the mail, water the plants, catch up on work. Everything is pretty much how I left it. It's pouring rain today, but warm and cozy inside. Maybe tomorrow it will be summer again.
3191 Quarterly was waiting for me when I got home. I love it!

over the weekend

Over the weekend I found a wonderful vintage tartan blanket at the flea market. We ate some fresh picked blueberries. I started knitting another vest and began reading this book.
Hope your weekend was swell!

beach day

Almost a deserted beach since you can only reach it by boat. It was a beautiful day, though a bit cold for swimming.
Happy weekend!

red door

I'm not sure how long ago this door was painted red. Twenty years? Forty years? I don't have the heart to re-paint it yet.

lazy sunday

Sunday was kind of a grey and cloudy day, perfect for relaxing, knitting, and reading. We are spending the last weeks of August here at our summer place.

Yesterday, both the summer house and our Cambridge house were featured on Etsy's home decor blog, Get the look. Thank you, Christine for inviting me to participate and doing such a great job on the article! I was so excited to be featured!

greenhouse

Greenhouse envy! This is the greenhouse at the Strawberry Banke Museum in Portsmouth, NH (which is a great living history museum, by the way). After my visit here I am having visions of working in a greenhouse studio. I think I would be quite happy moving my sewing machine in here and sewing away among all the plants. Big crush on the ferns too, I can't seem to keep one alive at my own house.
I'm adding some fall things to my shop today. Fall!?! Seems crazy, doesn't it?

already miss it

Back home for a short stay in Cambridge after a lovely visit with my family in New Hampshire. It's hot and humid here. I already miss the cool mornings and evenings farther north.

green thumb

My mom has a green thumb. Every night at her house there is delicious bounty from her garden. Thanks, Mom!
