in new hampshire

This is the house I grew up in, where my parents live. It's peaceful and green here, a place to think and dream. I chose the flowered wallpaper for my bedroom when I was 7 and I still love it.

Currently:
It's raining
I'm drinking coffee (well, decaf)
Reading: Half of a Yellow Sun
Just Ordered: The Kitchen Diaries
Rediscovered and cooking from tonight: Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone

That seems like a ver nice house. I grew up in so man different houses that I don't have fond memories of any of them, just my gramma's and the family summer place. Those have never changed and are still there.
It's good to have you back.

Thanks Esti! That's great that you still have your grandmother's house to visit and a family summer house...I wonder if you are at one of those places right now? :) Hope you are enjoying your vacation!

how funny, half a yellow sun is lying on my bedside table waiting to be read, a friend of mine waxed lyrical about it. are you enjoying it? I'm halfway through miranda july's "no one belongs here more than you" but as it's a book of short stories I don't feel particularly committed.. do I finish it or do I just start with half a yellow... ahh what a silly dilemma :)

enjoying your holiday photos, looks like you had a wonderful time!

Hi Famapa,
Yes, start Yellow! I finished it this week and really loved it. Wonderful characters and excellent descriptive writing. I have her first book Purple Hibiscus up next after Penelope Lively's Consequences. I'm on a reading binge! I read one of Miranda July's short stories in the New Yorker a while back, but haven't read the whole book. You'll have to let me know if it's worth it in the end!
