road to nowhere

This week has been incredibly unproductive for me. I'm making a small list here of things I have done, just to make myself feel better.

took the kids to swimming lessons
made panna cotta (it was really good)
read my camera manual, finally
wrote a thank you note to my sister-in-law for sending me a lovely pair of earrings
took some strange self portrait photos after reading my camera manual
started reading a biography of Alice Waters (fascinating!)
tried to work on editing photos for some upcoming projects, but really got nowhere, hence the frustration of having an unproductive week

Are some weeks just like this??? I've decided to not even try to do anything else today work related, and instead will browse here for a little while. Then I'm off to pick up the kids from school. Next week I will sew. And take some real photos. And be much more productive.

Doesn't sound so unproductive!

Are you reading "Alice Waters and Chez Panisse" by Thomas somebody? If so, I read it earlier this summer and loved it--so gossipy and fun! Loved the descriptions of crazy Bohemian life in Berkeley...

Hi Karina! Thanks!! I felt a little scared to post a picture of my face, but I agree...it's nice to know what people look like. Have a great weekend too!

Hi Sarah! Yes, same book! I'm loving the descriptions of Berkeley too and am amazed by Alice as a force of nature. Maybe that's why I'm feeling so unproductive...hee heee, I'm comparing myself to Alice Waters.

Hello there, pretty serious face!
Enjoy your unproductiveness, it always leads to great things! Good projects comes after a lot of frustration and random thinking...
Have an unproductive, fun and family related weekend!

Yes your under ten sweater is worth every penny, beautiful, and looks comfy & warm. Nice set of photos. I've had wilting week as well. Superhyper productive at work, but got absolutely nothing done at home. Luckily it's weekend : )

of course some weeks are just like this...I have more of these than I care to admit...oh and to make you feel better...I have not read my camera manual yet and have not taken any cool self portraits...

Hi Mary-Laure! Thanks! I will post the panna cotta recipe soon...it's very simple.

Hi Esti...yeah, I do look kinda serious...I'm not really though! It makes me feel better to hear from you that good projects can come out of frustration...

Hi Raining Sheep...the Alice Waters bio is called Alice Waters and Chez Panisse by Thomas McNamee...it's worth checking out. I've always admired Alice, and it's fun to see what inspired her and how she built up her restaurant.

Hi Stardust...hope you had a good weekend and aren't feeling too wilted anymore...I'm less wilted after the weekend too.

Hi Mrs. French...thanks for letting me know you have weeks like this too...that definately makes me feel better!!

Hello! Nice selfportraits.
This list doesn't really sound unproductive, much more like a week of getting some new energy and organizing. That's how I would call it :)
