studio today
Working on some things in my studio today. I'll show you how they turned out early next week when I add them to my shop. I have two more holiday fairs coming up in early December, so I'm still working on some last minute things. This afternoon though, was dedicated to making pie. Will and I made two, pumpkin and pecan. Have a great Thanksgiving, those of you who are celebrating. It is a long weekend for us, so I'll see you back here Monday!

almost thanksgiving
It's almost the end of November, which means it's almost Thanksgiving, which means I need to make pies. Raina over at Raining Sheep is posting her holiday traditions and I thought it would be fun to join in. So, first tradition of the holiday season for me is Thanksgiving pies. Pecan for Charlie, pumpkin for me, apple for Lucy, and a slice of each for Will.

taking note
Taking note of a few things in my studio. It's finally cleaned up a bit. And taking note of a few really nice mentions. Thanks to unruly things and e. soule for mentioning my bags and pillows yesterday! e.soule is also selling at poppytalk handmade. Check her out! And thanks to the lovely Artycho for posting about our trade today. I will show you my part of the bargain tomorrow. And noticing this post from Gracia. And these lovely things. And these fabulous photos from Mrs. French. So much to notice.

paper, ribbons, twine
Now that the Poppytalk show is up I feel like I can reflect a little on the Design Salon show I did this past weekend. The show was great and the best part were the wonderful contacts I made with other designers there. Angela Liguori and I were the first people to set up our tables and were immediately drawn to one another's things. I couldn't stop looking at her lovely collection, and came home with a beautiful notebook, a roll of Italian ribbon with my initial on it (can't wait to sew this onto something special) and a ball of twine. Angela is a book binder and designer who gives workshops, has an etsy shop, and produces beautiful things. She comes from Rome and has written an excellent travel guide to the city on Design Sponge. Get out your passports! She was also kind enough to do a little post about me on her blog. Thank you, Angela! If you live in Cambridge or Somerville, she'll be at the Paper and Chocolate show on December 6th. I can always use more paper and more chocolate. Maybe I'll see you there?

poppytalk handmade holiday market
Oh, there are so many amazing things to see at the Poppytalk Handmade holiday market today! Go have a look and do some early holiday shopping! I'm so proud to have my things included here among this great collection of artists and craftspeople. I am planning to browse and shop a little later today when I have a moment to sit down with a nice cup of tea. Right now I'm rushing out to the post office to mail some packages...they are getting to know me quite well down there, which is a good thing.
I'll be back tomorrow with some links and news from the show this past weekend.

buying and selling
Yesterday I went to Harvard Square to do some errands. I haven't been buying much recently, but I couldn't resist these Japanese socks from Black Ink. I also bought some yarn, and at the yarn shop met the nicest woman who has this cute etsy shop. So, I was buying yesterday and tomorrow I will be selling, and honestly, probably buying too. If you're in town, stop by and say hi.

10 minutes: part two

10 minutes: part one
Today I took ten minutes to take a bunch of snapshots. I feel like together they really captured my day. The kids have a school holiday today, but at the moment they are at the playground with my husband. It is blissfully quiet. The weather is a little gray and gloomy, but I happen to enjoy days like that. I'll post part two of my ten minute photo shoot tomorrow.
At the moment I am obsessed with a few things. Knitting, this etsy shop, and Esti's Magical Forest series.
And I really, really love Liz's photos at Bagged Lunch. Her blog is delightful to browse through.
And last, but not least, thank you for your nice comments on the bags and such. You are all so kind!
p.s. my husband took the photo of me today...it's not a self-portrait.

little goodies
Did you all have a nice weekend? Mine was pretty relaxing...made some lentil soup, worked on knitting, went on long walks with my family, had dinner with friends. Sadly, I didn't take one photo! I'm looking forward to taking some pictures this week. My camera and I are missing each other.
For today though, I have one more shop update. I've added some small goodies to the shop. Just some little, fun things out of my favorite fabrics. Next week all of these goodies will be appearing in the Poppytalk Handmade Holiday Market. It opens next Monday, November 17th. There will be so many great vendors selling lovely holiday wares...I can't wait to see them all!
Have a good Monday.
