In Porto. I loved the tilework on the facades of the buildings and their old, crumbly, state of decay. Sounds strange, but trust me, if you go, you will find it beautiful. I remember all the food there was delicious. Homey comfort food like roast chicken and kale and potato soup, and fish stew. And some port after dinner, if you like that sort of thing. I do.
p.s. you can check out her shop too, which is filled beautiful, unique jewelry.

I have also fond memories of Portugal. I went there as a kid :)

looking forward for more:)

I visit you first time...I like your "air" very much.
I fell in love with Lissabon summer'07, and just like you, I enjoyed the rusty, romantic look of the town. Lovelu photos!
Hi! Thank you very much for your comment on Toujours Dimanche!
If you come back in Quebec, I strongly suggest you to go further than Montreal, in Gaspesie, where we are... You won't regret it!
Jill, you have traveled the world! Pictures of Indonesia, they look like a fairy-tale. And Portugal is where we want to go. Let me ask you, are you scanning real photographs?
Hi all! Thanks for "traveling" with me here this week. We don't travel so much anymore now that we have two kids, so for me these photos and the memories they bring back are precious!
Marie-Eve, I would love to go to Gaspesie! I'm hoping to get back to Canada sometime in the summer. I will have to get some travel advice from you if we go.
Bohemian Girl, I re-photographed the original print photos with my digital camera, since we don't have a scanner. So they are digital photos of film photos. I think it's what gives the photos that dreamy quality...much more interesting than the original prints in my photo album. I didn't photoshop them at all either once they were in digital form.
Everyone I know who visited Portugal just fell in love with that country. I'd like to visit Porto and taste their delicious wine...
Your travel photos are so beautiful, mysterious, and nostalgic. I love the fading facade too. Serendipitously, my father is actually half Portuguese and half Indonesian, in line with your two most recent travel posts ;)
hi, Mary-Laure! Portugal is worth the trip.
Grace, that's so interesting that your dad is indonesian and portuguese. perhaps you've gotten to travel to those places too?
I agree with the michelle...the green door is so wonderful...I love that you have revisited your photos and have invited us along...so generous! xo t
