green walk

Where I live it's mostly concrete, houses are close together, most people don't have backyards. But that doesn't stop anyone from gardening. I love how creative people get with small spaces.

This is part one of my green walk. All plants were found within a five minute walk from my house. Part two coming later in the week. Enjoy!

summer shop update

Hi! Whew, last week was a bit busy what with finishing up the school year for the children and a show. I had to take a blogging break. But I'm feeling a bit more rested now after the weekend and am ready to start the summer!

So, just a little shop update on this hot, hot, Monday. Then later this week I'll share some inspiring people, places and things.

First, some new banners.

Second, some new bags.

Third, new pillows. Two of these went to Pod, but this third one, last of its kind is available in my shop.

hot hot hot

This weekend we gardened and grilled on our tiny back patio, which is also our driveway. City living. The weather is super hot here.

A selection of my tote bags are now available over at Fey Handmade. I'm very excited to have them there!

It's the summer solstice today, longest day of the year. Will you celebrate?

doll house

Okay, maybe you're thinking I'm a little old to be playing with doll houses. Yes, I am. But this is the kind of project that really inspires me, taking something in need of a little attention and freshening it up a bit. When it's done, it will go in my studio as a staging ground for photos and of course, to house some fun little dolls and furniture.
Sometimes it's really nice to be working on something that's just for fun.
Here are some before shots. I promise the after shots will be prettier! Please ignore the fact that my basement is super ugly in the background.
Have a great weekend, folks. The weather is perfect here, I hope it's nice where you are as well.

shop pod

I just sent these red stripe grain sack pillows over to Pod yesterday. I love the red!

This month Pod is hosting a pop up store featuring a lovely collaboration between artist Sherry Olsen and Fog Linen. Mighty nice stuff!

little things

Tiny little things from the flea market. I bought one big thing at the flea market to put all the little things in. Yes, a doll house. A place for the clothespeg dolls to reside. I will show you next week. It needs a lot of work!
Have a great weekend!

shakeit

After dissing my iphone camera yesterday, I downloaded the shakeit app and now I can't stop playing with it. I got the tip from Victoria of sfgirlbybay. Not having a real polaroid camera, I missed out on the whole polaroid craze of the past few years, but this app makes up for it. Here's just a few photos from a late afternoon buzz around the house and yard with my iphone camera.

Last night I watched Neil Jordan's new movie Ondine. Let's just say it involves Ireland, water, fairy tales, old cottages by the sea, and beautiful actors. I loved it!

squam

As usual, the trip to the Squam Art Fair was lovely. Well, honestly, the trip there was not so lovely as my kids were fighting in the back seat but once we got there, and out of the car, all was well.

Despite terrible weather predictions the day turned out to be warm and sunny! We met up with Angela and her family and Susy and her husband, Keith, and all had a nice afternoon sitting on the docks and having a picnic dinner.

This was my third time as a vendor at the fair and it was nice to see some familiar faces as well as meeting new customers, many of whom were there for the art workshops. I heard glowing reports about how wonderful and inspiring the workshops were. Something to think about for the future!

Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed was there teaching a workshop and I got to meet him. What a nice and friendly person he is, and of course he is an unbelievable knitter...if you haven't yet seen his blog go have a visit.

And finally, the only photos I took were with my iphone. Seriously bad, but I have to post them anyway, because that's all I've got!

squam art fair

The Squam Art Fair is this Saturday, June 5th 7:30-10 pm at the Rockywold Deephaven Camps in Holderness, NH!
Seriously, folks this fair is going to be great and Squam is one of the prettiest places I've ever been. And I've been to a lot of pretty places. You really should come on up if you can!

It's about an hour and a half north of Boston, directions are here.
I've been working so hard to get things done for this show and I have tons of new things that are not even in my shop that I will be selling there: all new bags, pillows, dolls, lavender pillows, banners and more!

Other fabulous artists and craftswomen who will be vendors there include:

Susy Pilrim Waters

Angela Liguori

Maya Donenfeld

Ysolda Teague

Cal Patch

Lettuce Knit

Juniper Moon Farm

The Woolen Rabbit

and more....
