Really quiet in the middle of the night here. And black as pitch. I'm not used to it, but it's nice. My old room, where I lived from the time I was 7 until I was 18. It hasn't changed much since then. I'm glad I still get to sleep here in the summer.
So in love with this quilt I found at the flea market. Oh, how I wish the lady who put this together knew how happy and honored I am to have it in my home! Each square is made from the most delightful bits of vintage fabric, each one a little different. There's even the date hand stitched into the corner, 1956. I'm just crazy about the whole thing.
Have a great weekend, all. I think there will be rain here, but not really a break in the heat. Soooo....we are drinking lots of ice tea and having bread and cheese for dinner. Way too hot to cook.
Moving so slowly in this heat...slowly picking up the house while the children are at camp this week. Slowly sewing in my oven of a studio. Taking long reading and ice tea breaks in between.
Catching up on gardening the past few days. Weeding, tidying up, watering. Roses, hydrangeas, lavender and lady's mantle are what's blooming right now.
I'm a designer and seamstress. I make bags and pillows out of vintage and natural fabrics. I'm a mom of two. I like pretty things.
