Hello! Gosh, I've been away for soooo long. I've been well, just super busy with life, kids, work.
In that order.
However, I have been working on a new Holiday Collection and it's in my shop now.
I'm offering free shipping within the U.S. over this coming holiday weekend.

Helloooo out there. It's been a long, long time since I've been to this space or even felt like posting here. For some reason, not sure why, I just needed to take a break from it all.
As the summer comes to a close, I feel like posting here again, so I will!
This summer I spent a lot of time with family...in fact the whole summer really, in places that were familiar and beautiful. I went swimming almost every day. I read a lot of books. I spent a lot of time with my children and my nieces and nephews. It was nice.
So now, it's almost September. School is about to begin and life is about to become more chaotic.
I read this article on being busy the other day. Note to self.

Love peonies! These are from the grocery store, but the ones in my garden are going to bloom soon. I can't quite remember all the different colors I have, so it will be a nice surprise. I've been reading a lot lately. Mostly memoir type books, coming of age stories...non-fiction.
Just Kids by Patti Smith
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls
Charlotte au Chocolate by Charlotte Silver
Nothing Daunted by Dorothy Wickenden
The Flame Trees of Thika by Elspeth Huxley
and one great novel written about Maine in the 1800's...I really loved this one.
The Country of the Pointed Firs by Sarah Orne Jewett
Thanks Cambridge Public Library...my current #1 inspiration!

Gosh, it got cold again this week. I've been inside doing a lot of sewing.
We watched Wasteland this last week. I recommend it.
Also, loved this couple's garden on the Selby.

Snowy, now rainy.
Still knitting cables, these will probably go into next fall's collection, since it's already March.
One lone flower on my geranium plant.
This time of year inspires me to dig out all my flowery old china and stick it around to make it feel springy inside when it's still not springy outside.
This winter I have been taking more advantage of the Cambridge Public Library. I'm trying to read a book a week. Just started Blood, bones and butter by Gabrielle Hamilton. So far, so good.
