For the holidays, I've added a little sale section to my shop of lovely fall and winter items that are the last (or 2 in some cases) of their kind! I'd love these to make some one's home a little more cozy this holiday season, so I've discounted them from 20%-40% off the original price. And although I can't guarantee delivery by Christmas at this point, each item ships the day of purchase, with lovely gift wrapping. If you are local, contact me at info@jillbent.com and we can skip the shipping charges and arrange for local pickup.
See the SALE section of my Etsy shop here.
Thanks for having a look and happy merry making this winter season!

BIG VINTAGE SHOP UPDATE!
First up:
Vintage copper cookware collection just added to the shop. These pieces are in such excellent condition. They have the best Julia Child vibe (after all, she lived in Cambridge for many years). I'm totally in love with them. Even my husband, who is not usually excitable about this sort of thing, asked if maybe we should keep these. But, they are in the shop for now, and all sold as individual pieces.
And then:
These rustic wood pieces. So New England, I love how they look as their own little collection. The spoon, cutting board, and bowl have the best antique character. The copper cups have been sold already.
Thanks as always, for having a look.
I'm spending the next week getting ready for the holiday shows coming up soon.
First one is at The Park School on Saturday, November 15 at 171 Goddard Ave, Brookline, MA! Check out the details at www.parkschool.org/craftfair . If you are local to the Boston area, please stop by! I would love to see you!

2014 Fall/Winter Cowls are just about done! Ok, I still have to finish sewing labels into them and then take a few more photos with a model (hardest part, since the model's usually me and I hate having my photo taken). And then they are ready for the shop and the holiday trunk shows.
This year, I wanted to do a new take on the cowls I've been doing over the years, and I loved the idea of creating a soft, nubbly texture with this simple moss stitch. The result is super soft and cozy without being too tight...better explained by a photo of someone wearing it...coming up soon.
The cowls are hand knit (by me, of course!) in 100% washable Merino wool, which is really soft (and not itchy) and come in five different colors: black, gray, doe brown, moss green, and royal heather blue.
Wishing you a good weekend. Typical New England fall weather is predicted around here...sunny, but cooler...I'll be wearing a cowl, no doubt!

Just added this collection of handmade vintage floral and Belgian linen pillows to the shop. Something about them feels very French to me. 4 of each color available at jillbent.etsy.com.

Some orange and yellow on a grey Wednesday. Just added this cute little orange Turkish coffee maker to the shop. Great for making Turkish coffee of course, (provided you know how to make it!) but also for melting butter or chocolate.
Love these peachy and yellow pillowcases for fall...these are the last sets too!
A few banners left also, right here...

After the rush of school starting in September, it's always apples that herald the nice things about fall. We went apple picking last week, and now have tons of apples to transform into a pie, applesauce, and to snack on after lunch.
This week I'm getting to work on some fall clothes peg dolls for the shop and upcoming shows in November and December! Suddenly they don't seem so far off...

Monday again, and it's officially fall!
Just put these pillows in the shop for fall/winter. All 100% soft wool pillow covers in herringbone tweed, plaids, and tartan.
Also updated my jillbent.com site for fall.
And a little vintage shop update coming on Wednesday too.
In the meantime, knitting away on a new set of cowls, in new patterns and colors, hoping to hit the shop in early October.

Just added this cozy and rustic fall vintage collection to my shop. Even though it's technically still summer, the nights and mornings are cool and crisp around here and I'm ready for fall. I can't wait to go apple picking and if I can, to drag my family out for an autumn hike somewhere where the leaves are changing and the seasons feel on the cusp of something new...
My personal favorite from this collection is this big, round, gathering basket (middle, bottom row). I've never seen one like this! It's really sturdy and has the perfect vintage patina to it. I imagine it being filled with apples, yarn, blankets...or any other fall collection you can dream up!
Right now, I'm in production mode getting ready for the holiday season, shows, etc., so I'll be posting new things in the shop frequently (after such a relaxing and lazy summer away from the shop).
Thanks as always, for stopping by and having a look around.

I just updated the shop with new vintage items for fall! I love this first collection: a mix of antique and vintage enamelware in cheery reds and blues, some antique ironstone and the lovely sailor dolls! Thanks for having a look...I'll be posting a new collection of vintage finds each week this fall.

Hi there! Back from a long summer away and I'm having an end of summer sale in my shop! From September 3-7 take 20% off everything in the shop using coupon code: SUMMER2014 at jillbent.etsy.com.
I'm going to be updating the shop with lots more vintage next week after the sale is over and new handmade items will be going into the shop on an ongoing basis this fall.
Thanks so much!

I've been away visiting my folks for the last few weeks, and now I'm taking off again for the wild west with my family. We're going to be visiting all of the places pictured above...I've never been to any of them, so I am super excited!! I've closed the shop for the rest of July, but will re-open August 1st.
Have a lovely July, everyone...I'll be posting on Instagram when I can from out west.
Cheers!

Lifestyle and wedding photographer Joyelle West took the photos. We worked for two days, styling, shooting, and chatting. Her lovely photos capture the look and feel of our house in such a great way, and it was a pleasure to work with her. I also learned so much about photography seeing a professional at work!
Joyelle is based in the Boston area, and travels far and wide to shoot weddings all over New England. Check out her wedding site to see her beautiful wedding photography and her lifestyle site for inspiring travel and lifestyle photos.
Thanks, Joyelle, and thanks Style Me Pretty Living! I'm so honored to be featured here! For more photos, check out the full gallery: here.

Summerrrrrrr! Yes, it's really here in Cambridge...hot, sunny, school is almost out. And we go on vacation for a bit. I'm actually going to close the shop from July 10 to July 31 while we go on an epic road trip out west. So if there's anything you must have before then, now's the time... I will ship it out quickly to you. Thanks all and have a lovely summer!
p.s. I will certainly be posting on Instagram from the road, if you want to see what living in an RV with two teenagers is like for a few weeks...ha ha. I'll try to include some photos of great American scenery as well.

Cheerful red enamelware in the shop! Enamelware is great for summer cooking and serving. Because it's light weight, it's easy to bring it outdoors or on a picnic or camping trip. The cookware heats up quickly on the stove, so you don't have to keep the burner on too long in the summer heat. And it just looks great. Win/win!
Also, this little nautical flag bowl. I'm guessing it was part of the dishware at a yacht club at some point and served up its share of lobster bisque and clam chowder? At any rate, it's cute and summery.

Mutterhood magazine has just released their Industry issue online and they have included an interview of me talking about handmade, vintage, Etsy, and how my small business runs. I'm honored to be a part of this publication...and each article in the issue is a little gem unto itself! You can view other issues of Mutterhood here as well. They are equally thoughtful, humorous and interesting. Thanks for having a look!

Wednesday afternoon vintage shop update of some ironstone, enamelware and a lovely old basket. I love how these pieces complement one another on the table.
I'm also working on another batch of blue stripe grain sack pillows. I hope to have them in the shop at the end of the week!

I added these cheery items to my shop yesterday. The mugs are vintage German Zeller Keramik. I've always loved this pattern, so was thrilled to find these. The blue, orange and pink pitcher would be nice for serving juice or milk at the breakfast table or sangria for an evening picnic. And of course would be lovely with flowers in it. The blue pitcher is vintage Oxfordware. Let me know if you see anything you like, I will send them off to you ASAP!

Good morning! At long last, I've updated my jillbent.com website. It's needed freshening up for a while and to make these changes feels like a good bit of spring cleaning. Please have a look if you have a moment!
I have lots of new vintage things coming into the shop in the next few weeks...including a shop update a little later today. Thanks as always for your support!
