Satomi Ichikawa
Satomi Ichikawa is one of my favorite children's book illustrators. Although she is from Japan, she often uses the British and French countryside as the setting for her books. The top photo is from Nora's Castle, the bottom photo is from Nora's Stars. My children never tire of looking at these beautiful pictures and neither do I!

I must find these books, my sister Nora will not to see her name written on the book cover!
Lovely drawings, I didn't the author. I love illustrations I thought one day I would illustrate a book for kids, who knows...
Etsi, you might find used copies of these on amazon.com for not too much money. Right after I posted this, I looked at your site and saw Nora spelled out in alphabet letters...great coincedence!
Raphaelle, I used to dream about illustrating children's books too...you should do it! Etsi, you too, with all your lovely drawings!
Whoops..just realized I wrote Etsi, not Esti twice...sorry Esti!
Nevermind, Jill. It's a common mistake nowadays! Esti is short for Estibaliz (a Basque name). My american friends sometimes call me Stevie, and my mother in law sometimes mixes all up and calls me Izaskun! After 16 years, I have no idea why she does that!
Oh, Estibaliz is a very pretty name...I'm glad to know where the nickname Esti comes from!
deleted comment above was spam...hmmm...not liking that.
Hello,
I've been trying very hard to find original art by Satomi Ichikawa, particularly from her book, You Are My I Love You written by Maryann K. Cusimano. I'm also an author/illustrator, yet no one I know knows Satomi Ichikawa! I've been asked to read from that book during a wedding ceremony, and I thought a piece, even a print, from it would make a perfect wedding gift.
By any chance do you know if she sells her art anywhere?
Thank you,
Katie Davis
