Reconnected

Yesterday my sewing machine and I reconnected and it was really nice! We made this bag together out of Ikea fabric, and it is my new spring bag. Yay! I do have lots more of this fabric if anyone else decides they want one too...just let me know. Today I'm making a little zip bag to go with it to hold all those essential things like my cell phone, business cards, Burt's Bees lip balm, Kiehl's lipgloss and spearmint gum.

Here are some pictures from my studio (which also doubles as our guest bedroom).
The calendar is from Satsuma Press, in case you were wondering.

And I wanted to mention this one-woman company, Moop, who I discovered via Poppytalk. She makes the most amazing bags...I really, really want one. There is a great interview with her here on how she runs her business.

Hi, I love your bags,is that Ikea fabric? I must take a trip over there, I love the colour combination. Your website is very smart, puts mine to shame.

Oh, thanks! This Ikea fabric is really nice, washes well and is a nice heavy weight. I recommend it, and the price is very reasonable :)

Thanks Andrea! I was wondering how you could see my earrings, and then I remembered that you can click to get a larger image...I should have resized that photo...who wants to see such a large photo of me??? Not me, that's for sure :)

Thanks, Erin...glad you like the bag! I'm taking it out tomorrow for a spin.

Hi Artycho, aren't the Moop bags great? I love her minimalistic style.
And yes, I realized I have never really put a picture of myself on my blog...I feel shy about it, but here I am...

I am not sure my sewing machine and I would even recognize eachother at this point....I just need to take that leap....poor thing so, so, so neglected. Your creations are love. I heart Moop. I have been itching to get my hands on one of those sweet bags for quite some time.

Beautiful bag! We have Ikea here very close too, earlier I visited there weekly ; ) And Kiehls lip balm; my father in law used to send me those from States! Have a beautiful weekend!

Hi Rina, hope you are feeling better!
And thanks for the nice comments.

Mrs. French, I'm sure your sewing machine will forgive you for your long abscence whenever you get around to using it again :)

Anu, the beauty of the mess is all in the camera angle, what to leave in, what to leave out...and our mess is not really so pretty in real life!

Stardust, do your in-laws still live in the states? Is your husband American? Let me know if you need to stock up on Kiehls...I'll send you some :)

Thanks Jill, so sweet of you. Luckily my stock hasn't run out of Kiehls yet! Yes, my husband has dual citizenship & grandpa Stardust lives in Minnesota. I remember when I first time (in February) visited your blog, you had just arrived from Minneapolis, and I was asking for some shopping tips : )

I like the kyklop eye in the first picture. Apart from the bag and nice photos, as usually.

Stardust, I remember that you had family in Minneapolis, but didn't realize it was your father-in-law. It's funny, just the other day I saw something on interesting shopping in Minny and now I can't remember where! If I do, I will send you the link!

Bohemian Girl, thanks for visiting. I just took a look at your blog (it's fabulous!)and left you a comment there. I'm so glad you left me a comment so I could find you! And yes, cyclops effect in the first photo is quite funny, huh?!
