Here are a few of my favorite little Christmas ornaments. Right now I'm thinking about what kind of holiday sweets to make for friends. Nothing too complicated, but something delicious. What's your favorite holiday cookie?
chocolate turron sounds delicious, esti! i've heard of it, but never had the chance to taste it. does it have fruit and nuts in it as well as chocolate? i must track some down...someplace in cambridge must import it!
After years of avoiding my mother's fruitcake (which involved those red gummy cherries), I became an absolute fruitcake fiend. No gummy fruit of any kind, just figs, dates, dried cherries, homemade candied orange peel, etc., spices, and a good soaking in bourbon. I dole them out to the other fiends I know (there are more of us than you'd think!) and they disappear very quickly!
As for cookies, I had a wonderful cookie at a friend's house the other day--it was a soft, sugary molasses gingerbread cookie with chocolate chips in it. I was surprised at how nice the combination was.
I'm a designer and seamstress. I make bags and pillows out of vintage and natural fabrics. I'm a mom of two. I like pretty things.
All photos are mine unless otherwise noted. If you would like to use them, just let me know. Thank you!
