last weekend in january

Got some new house plants. Their tropical vibe is making me happy on cold days. Cake making and knitting were accomplished this weekend. Chocolate raspberry cake recipe is here. Made great progress on the cowl. I'm going to be wearing it in the not too distant future, I think. Fiddling around with pretty silk fabric, inspired by these photos from Korean Vogue. Last, a corner of my living room, sporting a new plant as well. Cyclamen. Never tried one before, but I liked the white blossoms.

I'm happy it's February.

I LOVE the colours on the last picture! I think I have to change our "home colours" :-)

Love the corner of your living room - I just might have to go out and get a cyclamen as I have never had one.

Love the plants - they look so verdant in winter gloom. And that cowl... I'm starting to covet. As for the chocolate cake... my mouth is watering truly!

hi andrea, i'm glad you like the colors...mostly whites and tans in reality, but the photo makes it all look a little gray.

hi anna, i'm hoping the cyclamen will be low maintenence :) it was hard to choose the color. there were also some really pretty shades of pink flowers.

hi rebekah, thanks...i hope the cowl will be done soon, and even more, hope it will look good when done. i'm not using a pattern, so it's a bit of a wild card :)

hi jane, i just ate another piece of that cake. oh, dear! it is good and pretty easy to make...also it's not too sweet, just chocolate-y.

hi gracia, as we are getting ready for spring, you must be getting ready for fall. i like february because my daughter's birthday is at the end of the month, something happy and fun to look forward to even when it is cold and icy outside!

Oh, I love every time I get a glimpse into your home, Jill..! What is the color and brand of the white paint, since we're on the subject..? Do you remember by chance?

Anyway. It is always such a treat to stop by here... You exude such calm and coziness - and I find it all incredibly comforting. Thank you, dear. (And I'll be back to read a certain list...perhaps?) ;)

xoxo,
-maria
