over the weekend

Lots of new bags are ready to go into the shop. It's finally feeling like spring. Chocolate cake to celebrate my parents' birthdays.

late afternoon sun

I miss that late afternoon sun of the Caribbean, but the days are getting longer here now too and the sun is stronger. We saw a real octopus one day at the beach, but since I didn't get a picture of it, this pink one will have to suffice. Enjoy the weekend!

I can never resist what the beach has to offer. All the patterns, colors, and textures delight.

I've just added a few new things to my shop. I'll be doing little updates all spring. Today there are new spring scarves, a bag and some pillows. Thanks for looking!

beach bungalow

We all grew quite fond of our little beach bungalow. It was totally simple, just two rooms.
I loved the parrot tapestry in the bedroom, and the blue walls and tile.

Being in a warm, sunny place for a week was just what we all needed. Our little bungalow was right on the beach, so the kids could play in the sand until bedtime.

We're headed off on vacation to Antigua. I'll be back in a week or so with lots of sunny pictures.

Sun, sun, sun....here we come. Well, a few more days to go here, but we are ready.

More pillows! These will be added to my shop late March. Today it is snowing again. Really snowing hard actually. I'm not too sad though, because on Thursday we are going some place warm and sunny. Really warm and sunny.

Top photo: White French linen pillows.

I can't get enough of this white linen. It's French and vintage and sturdy and has never been used until now. It's got a beautiful texture and looks so clean and simple. They just don't make fabric like this anymore! These two pillows will go into the shop at the end of March. I'm hoping someone will love them as much as I do.

Bottom photo: Postcard a friend sent me from Hawaii and my white orchid. I'm crazy about white flowers this time of year. Somehow the orchid and the postcard belong together.

I'm working on new pillows for my shop. They'll be available by the end of March.

snow outside, warm inside

There's a snowstorm outside today. No school. Across from this chair is the fire. So, besides making soup, doing laundry, and hanging out with the kids, I might sit here and read some this afternoon. The painting above is by my mom. The pillow I brought back from a trip to Istanbul. Right now I have to take a walk to the store in the snow to buy some butter, milk and eggs. Have a good Monday!
